Straford-upon-avon
It's a cute little town and everything is around Shakespeare. I went to see a shakespeare's play called Cymbeline. I had a standing seat for 5 GBP and it was outstanding!! The lighting, the dancing and the visual effect were stunning!! It was worth standing and being hungry for 3 hours!!! The exhibition at the Shakespeare birthplace and a two hours walking tour gave me a good understanding of Shakespeare's life, his work and what life was like in Elizabethan time.
29/Oct: I thought things would be getter after Edinburgh, but it just went more challenging! After some engions failure and technical problems, my train was late and then canceled. I was 2hours behinded my scheldue and the train was packed. I had to change station to go to Straford and guess what? the escalator was broken when I was standing on it! Anyway, I managed to go to Straford where shakespeare was born. The story contunued......The ONLY youth hostel in town was shut donw...and then my 2nd choice for accommdation was not in business anymore. Of course, the tourist office was close by the time I arrived, so I had to knock from doors to doors and tried to find B&B....eventually I settled down in one of the Bed and breakfast. I had been travelling for the whole day and hadn't been eating for the whole day. I didn't eat until 11pm after I went to see one of the shakespeare's play in the Swan theather....My day ended nicely after I found out that I lost my glasses!!!!!!!!!!!!!
30/Oct: Big Big BIG English Breakfast!! Shakespeare Birthplace, Walking tour. and things just getting even more INTERESTING......
Bristol
It's again not a city in my guild book which I found out in a nasty way! I was lucky to stay with Lucy(UK) who I met when I was travelling in Cezch Republic in July. She is such a sweet pea! After some tragic dramas, all I needed was RELAX. She made sure I did that! I took my days in Bristol easy and regained all my energy. It was Holleween when I was there and she sure did show me the best of the student life-PARTY!! For those who didn't like the geeky Cambridge student life, Bristol is for you!! The uncoundtable creative party themes will satisfy those who love party!! I enjoy the little walk I did with Lucy and the delicous hot chocolate and the cheap jeans that I bought!!
30/Oct: Umm....It's where for the first time I swear at God and UK after a bad day. I was still in a bad mood after trying to find out where I lost my glasses. I was on my way to Bristol when I realised that there were 2 stations in Bristol. I had 10mins before the train departed, so I called my friend Lucy(UK) who I was going to stay on that night. The number I had was the WRONG number! I jumped on the train bravely(?) and almost lost my gloves in the phone boot. i thought my guide book would tell me something about Bristol but i realied that it wasn't on my book. Anyway, i found out the main station when i was on the train. Again the train was delay for some technical problem. it was puring when I got to Bristol. I had no info, no map and the only thing i had is a WRONG phone numbers. I had 3 options. One is to find a internet point, so i can double check Lucy's number. 2nd one is to call a taxi and go to her address.(which later I found out it's her HOME address in LONDON!). I had to wait in the rain for an hour to get the bus (great!) to the street where I was supposed to meet Lucy(I later found out that there are more than just one High St.). I was looking for internet place and it took me 2hours to find one and I was very wet by then. What about my cell phone? I had no credite on my phone, so I could't receive phone call....so I was helpless for 2hours. Accidentally and fortunetly i found a youth hostel where i can use the internet. I finally found the right number and got hold on my friend around 9pm(Mind you that it's dark after 4:30pm now)....did i mentioned that i lost umbralla? yes, that's right....I lost at some point between Edinburgh and Bristol. I was just soooo happy when I see Lucy's face when I went to her university!!! Phew~ I am a survivor again!!
31/Oct: Sleeping in until 11AM...YEAH! Good shower, laundary, breakfast. Lucy just took good care of me like I am a sick patient(she even gave me her bed and she slept on the floor...I felt bad for that). Sightsee in Bristol incl. suspension bridge, cave, hot chocolate, wicked shops. Holleween Party!
Bath
Lucy told me about an organised trainee event in Bath, so I decided to go as Bath is one of the place that I want to visit. It had been a while since the last time I saw Rome Ruin, so the Roman Bath was really cool for me! It's very impressing to see the Roman Bath still function and the hot spring still come out after 4000 years. It's a queen size of city and I enjoyed it very much with 15 trainees around the world. I even met an Slovak trainee and a trainee who knows the trainee that is working in my old company!! AIESEC is such a small world!!!
1/Nov: Nice to be a trainee again and being taken care of by AIESEC. Tour around Bath incl. Romen Bath, Bath Abbey etc. We miss the firework, but we had pub crawl instead...:)
London
It's my 3rd times being in London and I finally got a chance to check all tlhe sites out with all my best slovakian trainee freinds!! It's a precious reunion which was planned accidentally!! Danni(UK) was our host who took us(Mayra(Canada), Sandra(Gemany), Tero(Finland), and his flatmate) around in London! Everything was like old time in Slovakia. We treasure our friendship with each other very much and it was definetly like a dream come true to see each other again after our traineeships. London is such a big city. Fortunetely we had Danni, the local, to keep us from losing ourselves. What we found the most intresting thing there is they have instructions for everything!!
''Mind the Gap'', ''Mind the step'', ''Mind your head'', ''Stand on the right'', ''Look Left'', and ''Look Right'' are about traffic system. We also saw ''Open by hands'' in Coke's bottle!! Especially we had listen/seen ''Mind the Gap'' for at least 100 times in 2 days and it's just a bit too much!
2/Oct: Hi Mayra, Danni, Sandra, Tero, Petri(Tero's flatmate)
3/Oct: Sightseeing incl. Paliment,Big Ben, London eye, St. James Park, Buckingham Palace, Green Park, Leicester St., Tower Bridge, Tower of London. English Dinner
4/Oct: Greenwich where Greenwich Mean Times(GMT) starts, Horrods, English tea, Show: Chicago. it was brilliant! I love the movie when I watched it in Slovakia with trainees. It greats to see the original show on stage! I enjoy the entire show. I like to notice mere detail such as how/where actors/actresses entered/exsited and how they played the music and lighting!
Trainees reunion at Danni's house-Danni(UK),Anita, Mayra(Canada), Sandra(Germany), Tero(Finland) and his flatmate
The chocoholic Mayra(Canada) tried to flirt with English policeman. I was just there for mental support(!)
Big Ben+Pailement, Abbey, St. James Park, London eyes, Tower Bridge, airport
