6/July/2003: Strecno Castles
Anna (Ukraine) came to visit us and we took her to Strecno Castles.(Both old and new castles). It was too early to be at the railway station at 11:45am, so all of us went to have some coffee(of course, for some ppl it also known as beer time). Around 12:30, we finally decided to start today's agenda, so we moved across the road to catch our train to Strecno. There were Anna(Ukraine), Tero(Finland),Misho(@er), Erika(from work) and I standing at the platform and waiting for Janka(@er) and her sister. The conductors started closing all the doors and there was still no sign of those two. We started getting worry as the train was about to go at the any minute and Janka's sis had all our tickets!!! Finally we saw them walking up the stairs peacefully and we all jumped on the train.
After we caught our breath, Anna(Ukraine) started prepared herself for the hiking- Her Make up! Yes, of course it makes sense!! :). After the make up, she went to the WC when the train slowed down and we found out it happened to be our stop!! Tero grabbed her stuff and knocked on the toilet door. Fortunately, she had finished her business :) Because of this little incident in the train, we had another inside joke about "checking equipment"!!
Some ppl may say the weather was horrible for hiking, but we all agreed it's the excellent weather as it always rained at the right time and right place-next to some pubs! We stopped by 2 pubs, 1 ice cream shop, 2 castles. The agenda was brilliant with a lot of laugh and chatting. The new Strecno castle is where they made the movie: Dragon Heart!
Of course, hiking and make up makes sense!!! Yes, our lovely ukrainian tought us a lesson about you should put make up for hiking.....
